What We Do

  • The Department administers and monitors the functions of Deputy Commisioners and Superintendent of Police as regards extension of Visa and all types of authentication of documents valid outside India etc. as per guidelines of the Government of India . The department monitors the functions of SP(FROs). The Passport Department sanctions and releases fund for the staffs, engaged in various districts for the purpose. There is no Directorate or Subordinate offices under the direct administrative control.

    1. Matter relating to Loss of Passport/ Look out Circulars/ Delegation Circulars/ Prior Reference Category/ Black List/ Warning & Cancelling Circulars & amendments to Visa Manual.

     

    1. Matter relating to court cases of Passport Department.

     

    1. Matter relating to extension of all types of visa in respect of all nationals.

     

    1. Matter relating to deportation of foreigners.

     

    1. Statistics of incoming Foreigners.

     

    1. Specimen Signature relating to attestation of documents.

     

    1. All attestation of documents valid outside India including personal, educational, commercial etc.

     

    1. Arrear List & monthly progress report of Bangladesh through check posts.

     

    1. Report regarding registration of foreigners.

     

    1. Matters of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India relating to Passport, Visa etc.

     

    1. Matter relating to extension of Tourist & Long Term Viva ( LTV) in respect of nationals of all countries.

     

    1. All financial matters including allotment of salary budget for the staff of 3 (three) Deputy Commissioner Offices (i.e Nagaon, Sonitpur, Cachar) under their establishment.

     

    1. Matter relating to issue NOC for No Obligation to Return to India Certificate.

     

    1. Matter relating to verification for NOC/ character & antecedents.

     

    1. All matters relating to IVFRT (on line visa matters).

     

    1. Online attestation project e- SANAD.
